Artificial intelligence analyses refrigeration equipment

The artificial intelligence of Optiwise has been developed to analyse the temperature of refrigeration equipment and to determine if the equipment is working properly. Artificial Intelligence can, for example, detect abnormalities in temperature as well as problems with defrosting cycles. Based on a report from Artificial Intelligence, an expert at a refrigeration service company or energy manager can identify the cause of the problem and take corrective action.

The efficiency of energy management has been significantly improved in the past with Optiwise. This means that instead of dozens of properties a single expert can now manage well over one hundred properties. Efficiency will only grow as data analyses by artificial intelligence can be utilised.

Artificial intelligence based on neural networks has been developed in collaboration between the experts of Core Factory Oy and EcoReal Oy. Optiwise is used to monitor refrigeration equipment temperatures in more than 250 locations: hypermarkets, supermarkets, grocery stores, and service stations. The largest users of the application are HOK-Elanto and Pirkanmaan Osuuskauppa. In total, the application collects data from more than 12,000 refrigerators.

AI developement is part of Optiwise Oy’s project to digitise energy management. The project has received funding from KIRA-Digi, the government’s flagship project involving ministries, municipalities and the KIRA Forum, designed to advance digitalisation of the real estate and construction industries. The goal is an open and interoperable ecosystem of information management for built environment.

Optiwise Oy was established in 2016. Its mission is to provide solutions for monitoring and managing building refrigeration and building automation which again indirectly reduce customers’ energy and maintenance costs and increase the value of property.
